As part of an international Erasmus+ programme, an innovative workshop aimed at older generations was held at the Department of Art and Design, with the goal of combining technology and artistic expression.

Within the project “Journey to the Future – Seniors in the Digital and Intercultural World” (Project Reference Number: 2025-1-PL01-KA122-ADU-000343121), the Department of Art and Design successfully organized the workshop “Painting by Light” on March 26, 2026.

The workshop was dedicated to guests and participants from Poland as part of a broader digital literacy programme for seniors. The lecture and practical training sessions were led by Professor Bojana Bojović Milošević, who introduced participants to the world of creative photography.

Combining Technology and Creativity for Older Generations

The main objective of the project is to challenge stereotypes and reduce apprehension toward technology among older adults. Through this workshop, the Polish senior participants not only learned the technical fundamentals of camera operation and manual settings but also had the opportunity to express their creativity through the artistic use of light.

Programmes such as this demonstrate that digital literacy extends far beyond the use of applications and everyday digital tools. It can also serve as a means of artistic creation, personal development, and the strengthening of intercultural connections.
